Rick Owens 2012 S/S Desert Hiking Boot
Rick Owens continues the release of his Spring/Summer 2012 footwear installments with the latest Desert Hiking Boot. Crafted with a similar ethos as the previously unveiled Leather Hiking Boot, the pair takes on a rough textured black leather upper. A similar oversized tongue accentuates the front facade of the shoe while a laceless vamp and a tonal black lugged outsole round out the neo-military boot aesthetic. The Rick Owens Desert Hiking Boot is now available through ink Hong Kong.

Alden ‘Ultimate Indy’ Boots
The Alden ‘Ultimate Indy’ in black Aniline calf leather. These flew off shelves when they were first introduced a few years back, they now make a return via Leather Soul who currently offer more versions of this boot than you have days in the year to wear them. Now, some may be shaking their heads at another mention of the Indy. The poster boot for the menswear movement has become, lets say, Ubiquitous. This version however has breathed new life into a classic, that matte black colourway bringing a chalkboard vibe and generally smartening the whole thing up.

Yuketen Spring / Summer 2012
The acid test for any shoe is how they stand up to the rigours of day to day wear, and let us tell you from experience, it doesn’t get much better than a pair of Yuketens. Yuketen only use the finest leathers and suede, sourcing from tanneries such as the famous Horween workshop, and their shoes are all hand sewn onto ultra-durable amazonas rubber crepe or Vibram soles. As such, not only will every pair of Yuketens last for years, but due to the effort that goes into the dying, waxing and finishing of the leather, they will become more comfortable and look even better with age. - Endclothing

Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Sierra Trek Hi LX
Continuing the successful Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH collaborations, the Japanese-born designer lays claim to the latest silhouette iteration titled the TH Sierra Trek Hi LX. Consistent with past footwear releases, the ongoing collaborative sees not only an original model introduction, but also an amplified, premium upper construction and detailing. Polished leather comprises the entirety of the upper with classic stitch down construction and a crepe outsole serving as the foundation for the mid-top boot/sneaker fusion. Contrasting stitching reflects the tubular tan laces while unique brogue detailing sees its way to the rear heel. Those in the market can find availability through Bows & Arrows for a retail of $200 USD.

Alden Boots X Leather Soul, Self Edge
Two smitten-worthy outfits come together to bring us this sleek, utilitarian boot. Denim purveyor Self Edge describes their niche in the world this way: “We don’t see a pair of jeans as just a pair of jeans. We see them as part of your life—something that ages with you and, like you, only becomes better with time.” We couldn’t agree more, and, in the case of a quality piece of footwear, the same rules apply, which is something Leather Soul seems aware of by their own credo: “Aloha, our passion is for craftsmanship, style, the perfect fit and uncompromising service.” One hundred pairs of the Alden boot were produced in each of two colors—black and Horween chromexcel (tan)—both bearing the telltale detail of a stitched mock toecap. You can pick them up starting February 18 at either Leather Sole location (Beverly Hills and Waikiki). In addition, Self Edge will be releasing an Iron Heart collaboration jean as part of the package.
