Design Loake Jack Sand Suede
Family owned and operated for over 130 years, Loake Shoemakers recently introduced a line combining contemporary designs with the traditional, handcrafted look the English footwear house is renowned for. This line, aptly named Design Loake, releases the Jack Sand Suede brogue, handcrafted in the brand’s originally located English factory. Complete with a Goodyear welted wood sole and contrasting stitching, this modern style offers versatility as a shoe capable of complimenting a fine tweed suit or a pair of selvage denim jeans. The Jack Sand brogue is currently on sale at Loake’s online shop for £140.00 GBP (approximately $223 USD).
Alden Milkshake Saddle Shoes
Another superb Alden, Leather Soul collaboration. This is the Milkshake Saddle, sounds pretty tasty right? Soft, creamy suede sits alongside the oddly named “dark brown lady calf.” Brass eyelets, antique edge trim and Alden’s made for comfort flex welt construction. We’re not sure whether to wear them on a country walk or stick a straw in ‘em. Hit Leather Soul for more.
Forest of Ginkgo (F.O.G.) - Derby Brogues
“Here is a look at a very impressive and quite refreshing Italian footwear company in their first season by the name of Forest of Gingko (F.O.G.). While there are a plethora of footwear companies with goals of recreating and producing some of the finest in classic and military inspired footwear, with hints modern modifications, Forest of Gingko focuses purely on detail and exploring new heights in quality control. F.O.G. uses only the skin of fallen animals, as opposed to animal slaughter, to process their double stitched soles. In addition, no chemicals are added to their 92% biodegradable soles. These steps are clear reflections of the brand’s mission to create footwear with no compromise in production whatsoever. It is not hard to tell that the favorite would be the Francesina Alta Military inspired boot, although the derby besso, derby brogue, derby mid, and derby alta are all undeniable styles in this collection.”
