Self Edge Zippo Vintage 1937 Repro Lighter - “Perfect Fit”
One of our favorite Zippo designs is their 1937 flip-top windproof lighter. They took the 1935 version and rounded the edges to make it more comfortable in your hand and added the iconic double slashes on two opposite corners. Their design engraved on the front is a nod to the fact that what is known today is a “coin pocket” was once known as a “watch pocket”.
Eastman Leather - Fall / Winter 2012
Eastman Leather’s Autumn/Winter 2012 offering. Gary Eastman, bossman and founder, was good enough to talk us through the line-up. It’s hard not to be impressed by the sheer dedication and hard work that goes into producing these jackets. Trying to recreate functional, military, leather garments with all their bells and (literally in some cases) whistles, is no mean feat.
With an encyclopedic knowledge and an obvious passion for these pieces, Gary has been able to produce spot-on replicas. Even in the case of the updated A-2 ‘Slender‘ – a more slimeline, modern take on the classic, everything is as it should be. USAAF spec plain weave cotton, Crown zipper, worsted wool knit cuffs
Buzz Rickson’s Autumn/Winter 2012 – A Closer Look
We start off today with Rickson’s. While they’ve long be regarded as masters of the repro, a cult label, there’s always been something accessible about the brand. The lines are a mix of pieces exact to the originals; military outerwear, flying leathers etc, all of which tend to attract the vintage-head crowd. Alongside this, easy to wear sweats, t-shirts and footwear that wouldn’t feel out of place in any modern get-up. In the same vein, we we’re particularly impressed by Rickson’s sub label, Aviation Associates. Ever the creative bunch, the designers felt they wanted more room to produce pieces which weren’t strictly reproductions but took elements of classics to make something familiar. We point you towards the incredible Number 7 leather sleeved jacket and the canvas Mackinaw coat.
While we stare for an inappropriate amount of time at the patch heavy, olive nylon L-2 and MA-1 jackets, take a look through the gallery for more of the good stuff. Carry on over at Buzz Rickson’s.

For over 152 years, H.W. Carter & Sons has been a symbol of quality, durability and character in the manufacture of denim sportswear. Established in 1859 by Henry W. Carter in Lebanon, New Hampshire, H.W Carter & Sons has a deeply-rooted history in the growth of America.
By 1890 H.W. Carter & Sons became the premier manufacturer of denim overalls and work wear. Carter’s Overalls were famous throughout the northeast. F R E E / M A N - Articles - Gitman Vintage – Japanese Yarn Dyed Dubby Cotton
The details on this shirt are some of the sickest I’ve seen in a while. Perfect for spring, this lightweight Japanese cotton with the yellow, blue, red, and green intricacies throughout really give it amazing depth and character. I would be irresponsible if I didn’t share this shirt with you because I feel guilty that GV is so dead-set on only making shirts for me. Available at Indigo & Cotton.
