ON & BEYOND‘s infrequent but ongoing “I Wish They Made This For Girls” feature slightly changes the context of men’s fashion involving the fairer sex within short photo shoots. A.P.C. 2012 Fall Collection
Drawing substantial inspiration from the immediate surroundings of its Rue des Saints-Pères showroom, A.P.C.’s latest Fall 2012 collection ventures into an English hunting-inspired realm to augment its seasonally consistent menswear garb. While never shying away from its well-tailored aesthetic, the collection sees subtle, yet tastefully slouched trousers and flannels shirts that provide a degree of wearable and balanced casualness. A gum-soled footwear range is included that perfectly outfits a range of knitwear, some of which is curated thanks to Harris Tweed sourcing and textile construction. It’s a 1960s French cinema-infused collection of tailored fits, color palettes and garments.

White Mountaineering Spring / Summer 2012 Collection
Founded back in 2006 by former Junya Watanabe assistant Yosuke Aizawa, White Mountaineering create some of the finest outdoor apparel available, built around the concept of ‘design, utility, technology and function’. The Spring Summer ’12 collection centres around a number of heritage fabrics, including 5oz Japanese chambray, premium patterned cotton, knitted fair isle and a Custom flower camo. The Japanese brand then transform these archive materials, using them as a foundation in the construction of functional, performance garments, utilising innovative waterproofing and moisture wicking treatments such as Pertex and eVent to add unprecedented functionality. The collection also combines these modern technologies with traditional waterproofing and strengthening methods, including leather panels at the shoulders and rear yoke as well as by applying wax coatings over lightweight herringbones and twills.
Yuketen Spring / Summer 2012
The acid test for any shoe is how they stand up to the rigours of day to day wear, and let us tell you from experience, it doesn’t get much better than a pair of Yuketens. Yuketen only use the finest leathers and suede, sourcing from tanneries such as the famous Horween workshop, and their shoes are all hand sewn onto ultra-durable amazonas rubber crepe or Vibram soles. As such, not only will every pair of Yuketens last for years, but due to the effort that goes into the dying, waxing and finishing of the leather, they will become more comfortable and look even better with age. - Endclothing
